Princess Mary, the only daughter of George V, is said to "be expecting a visit from the stork," according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. The princess and her husband, Lord Lascelles are "living quietly" at their London home, Chesterfield House, and are "avoiding dances and functions."
The Princess and Lord Lascelles, heir apparent to the Harewood earldom, were married in February of this year. This will be the first grandchild for King George V and Queen Mary.

Marlene, this was an arranged marriage by Queen Mary, wasn't it? Lascelles was enormously wealthy and following WW1 the traditional arranged marriages between the princely houses had ended. I have read that Princess Mary was in love with a Scottish aristocrat but Queen Mary put paid to it.
