The Princess of Wales publicly appeared today at the Investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. The Prince of Wales carried out the investitures.
Catherine attended the ceremony to meet 16-year-old Liz Hatton, who lives in Harrogate. The young woman is battling a desmoplastic small round cell tumor, a "rare and aggressive cancer." Liz's mom told the BBC her daughter was diagnosed in January. Doctors say the young girl has between "six months and three years to live."
The Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer in March. Last month she completed chemotherapy, but it will be several years before she can be declared cancer-free.

The Prince and Princess invited Liz and her family to Windsor, and the Prince asked her to photograph the investitures, which he carried out on behalf of the King.
Liz's parents set up a GoFundMe for their daughter to see a US doctor who specializes in her cancer.

Did the late Queen Mother & Prince Philip carry out investitures? Or is it only Royals by birth?
