Princess Hermine will be styled as Queen Hermine following her marriage to Kaiser Wilhelm II, according to an announcement made today at a pre-wedding reception to honor the bride and groom.
The Kaiser told his guests: "I shall be the happiest man in the world. No longer will I be called the solitary exile of Doorn."
Princess Hermine "appeared equally happy." She was dressed in a "toilet of State, with a dark veil slightly covering a jeweled diadem."
German professionals, as well as members of the Dutch nobility, were present for this reception. The only member of the Kaiser's family to attend was his fourth son, Prince August Wilhelm.
