A Message from Fleur and Harper

 

Today is our mom's birthday ...and we are going to celebrate with her.

Fleur: Harper!  First, let's talk about how I became an internet sensation last week.  Everyone wants to know about my very brief appearance on BBC News.

Harper (who is bored with hearing about his sister's stunt):  My photo was in the Washington Post.

Fleur: whatever, Harper ... I made a Ca-Meow on the BBC!!!!

Harper:  for the record, Flurry, I was sitting on the table opposite Mom when you tried to jump on the table.  She was doing an important interview with the BBC talking about Prince Harry!!!   I knew to wait until Mom was finished ... and we would go to bed.  You should have waited a few more minutes

[It was 12:05 am in Virginia -- 5:05 am in London]

Fleur (with a very loud meow): I wanted to be in that interview.

Harper: you are such a baby.

Fleur: I am two and a half years old. I am a "furry little star."  Mommy and I went viral.  You didn't!

Harper mutters: I was in the Washington Post twice!

Fleur.  I was so excited and could barely eat my breakfast when mommy checked Twitter later that morning (June 5) and discovered we were a viral sensation.  Way cool.  On Twitter, everyone wants to know about me ...even Larry the Cat.  He said I was seeking stardom.

Harper: Whatever.

Fleur:  My awesome appearance appeared in news articles around the world - Newsweek and publications in India, Germany, and Portugal.  I am a superstar cat.  

Harper: But not the Washington Post Enough about you ... 

Harper and Fleur: it is our mom's birthday today. and in three weeks she will retire from her job as an academic librarian...that means more Mommy time.  Fleur whispers: more time to share TV time with Mommy.   

Harper adds: more time for blog posts and BASEBALL.  And kitty hugs and kisses!

Fleur: and CUDDLES.  More cuddles.  

Harper: Flurry!!!!!!  Let's wake up Mom and wish her a happy birthday.   

Fleur: Yes, let's do that.  You jump on her tummy, and I will run my paws through her hair.

The cats hit SEND, and head for the bedroom where mom is sleeping ... not for long, though.
