A visit to Sudeley Castle

In June for the 60th birthday tour, I spent a day at Sudeley Castle.   I took the train from London Paddington to Swindon, and changed for Cheltenham Spa, where I caught a local bus to Winchcombe, then a healthy walk to the castle.

A lovely day.  The castle is owned by the Dent-Brocklehurst family, and is the final resting place for Queen Catherine (Parr), the sixth wife of Henry VIII.  After Henry's death, she married as her fourth husband, Thomas Seymour (brother of Queen Jane), and they resided at Sudelely, where she died after giving birth to a daughter, Mary.

Sudeley had been on my must see list for some time.
