Prince Alexis Ferdinando of Windisch-Graetz in car accident

Prince Alexis Ferdinando of Windisch-Graetz is in critical condition at a local hospital in the Piedmont Matese area of Italy. The prince, 18, lost control of his car and he crashed into a tree. (Another driver Antonella di Crosta, 19. Di Crosta, a student, was also killed that evening on the same road, but Antonella was not involved in the accident that took the life of Prince Alexis.)
Police believe that the accidents were caused by slippery road conditions. It took some time for the police and emergency personnel to arrive to extricate Alexis from the card. He was rushed to San Sebastiano di Caserta hospital, where he underwent delicate surgery for head and chest injuries. His condition is said to be grave. The accident occurred near Alexis' family's country home at San Angelo d'Alife, in the province of Caserta.
Prince Alexis Ferdinando is the second son of the Prince and Princess of Windish-Graetz, who divide their time between their homes in Rome and San Angelo d'Alife.

Prince Mariano-Hugo was born in 1955. He married on February 11, 1990 at Salzburg to Archduchess Sophie of Austria, the daughter of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, the former Countess Helene of Toerring-Jettenbach.
Their first child, Maximiliano Hugo was born on April 4, 1990. Alexis was born on December 7. 1991. The youngest child, Princess Larissa was born on December 11, 1996.

In July 2007, Prince Alexis took part in a Roman Catholic mission trip to Peru.

I hope at least portions of his bebo profile were in jest. Either that, or I'm getting really old. Regardless, the car accident must be devastating for the family. Best wishes to him and them. Hopefully he will pull through.
