Carol wants mom out of the country
November 7, 1936
Balkan diplomatic circles are reporting that King Carol II wants his elderly mother, Dowager Queen Marie to leave Romania "because of a "new quarrel between the," states an Associated Press dispatch.
The cause of the "reported quarrel" is apparently due to a letter Queen Marie sent to Carol's former wife, Princess Helen, accusing her son of the responsibility for the "bad conditions" in the country.'"
Princess Helen apparently sent the letter on to the King.
