Kaiser Wilhelm II arrived in Egelsbach, Grand Duchy of Hesse and by Rhine, at noon from Wiesbaden and "was cordially received at the railroad station" by Emperor Nicholas II of Russia, the Grand Duke of Hesse and By Rhine and Prince Henry of Prussia.
The New York Times reports that the two Emperors "kissed each other on both cheeks." They drove together to Wolfsgarten to have lunch, while Chancellor von Bulow and Count von Lamsdorff, the Russian Foreign Minister had a "prolonged talk" at the main palace in Darmstadt. One of the subjects discussed was a "commercial treaty between Russia and Germany."
