Sisi's assassination responsible for Danish queen's death

The news of the assassination of Empress Elisabeth of Austria "precipitated the death" of Queen Louise of Denmark, according to the Marquise de Fontenoy's  latest dispatch.

In early September,  Queen Louise's condition "has improved so much and her mind had become once more so clear and sound," that her physicians believed that she might live for several ore years.  Her three daughters, the Princess of Wales, the Dowager Empress of Russia and the Duchess of Cumberland all made plans to return to their homes.

But apparently the shock of Elisabeth's assassination at Geneva brought about a quick relapse with one fainting fit after another," and by last week,  Queen Louise's life was near the end.

One Louise was very fond of Empress Elisabeth.  They were in frequent correspondence, and "whom she had repeatedly seen in both Copenhagen and in Austria."

Empress Elisabeth, the consort of Emperor Franz Josef, was assassinated on September 10.
