The condition of Crown Princess Stephanie of Austria has "taken a marked change" for the worst, reports the New York Times.
A doctor and a priest remained at her bedside all night. The Crown Princess is the widow of Crown Prince Rudolf, who died in 1889 at Mayerling. She has received the last rites, and has been visited by her father-in-law, Austrian emperor Franz Josef.
Stephanie is the eldest daughter of King Leopold II of the Belgians.
