Prince Valdemar of Denmark today announced the betrothal of his daughter, Princess Margaretha, to Prince René of Bourbon-Parma, reports the New York Times.
[The New York Times stated that the bride was the daughter of Prince Waldemar of Prussia. Oops.]
Prince René is a brother of the former Empress Zita of Austria. He is the son of the late Duke Roberto of Bourbon-Parma and his second wife, Maria Antonia. He has seventeen brothers and sisters, among who are Empress Zita, who married Emperor Karl, and Prince Sixtus and Prince Xavier, both of whom served with the Belgian Army during the world war. Prince René was born at Schwartzau on October 17, 1894. He served as a Captain in the Austrian army.
