Prince George of Wales is expected to visit Canada in 1893, according to an announcement today in London. The New York Times reports that the Prince will visit "Quebec and Montreal and other places of interest in the Dominion." He is also expected to visit Chicago and the World's Fair, which will open on May 1, 1893.
He will return to England after his trip to Chicago.
At present, Prince George, 27, is in the South of France with his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales where they are "seeking rest and solace after their bereavement" following the death of Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale.
The eldest son of the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Clarence and Avondale died on January 14 from influenza.
