The Chicago Tribune reports today that King Ferdinand of Romania "has refused the Hungarian throne." This follows the "attempted coup" by the former Austro-Hungarian Emperor Karl.
Count István Bethlen, who serves as Hungary's Prime Minister, has asked the Romanian government "to send a deputy to settle the question of the Hungarian throne."
When the Romanian emissary arrived in Budapest, the Hungarian government handed him a list of demands:
