Crown Princess Frederica of the Hellenes gave birth to a son today at Pyschico Palace, which is four miles from Athens, reported the Associated Press.
Frederica is the wife of Crown Prince Paul, heir presumptive to the Greek throne. He is the brother of King George II.
The infant prince, whose name has not been announced, is second in line to the throne.
Crown Prince Paul married Princess Frederica of Hanover in January 1938. She is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg and a granddaughter of former Kaiser Wilhelm II.
The couple has a 19-month old daughter, Princess Sophie.
The prince's birth has "evoked widespread public celebrations and temporarily diverted Greece's attention form the threat of war in the Eastern Mediterranean."

Its interesting that the former King and Queen are back in Greece. But with Greece in such turmoil, no real political move to bring back the monarchy !! I believe a small percentage is interested in bringing the monarchy back, and mostly those whom remembered the Monarchy in reign.
ReplyDeleteThere is no interest in the monarchy. Constantine and Anne Marie have lived in the country for about a decade now. Nicholas and Tatiana live in Athens. There is no chance that the monarchy will ever return http://royalbooknews.blogspot.com/2020/05/monarchy-in-modern-greece-by-costa-m.html
