The "semi-official" Berlin newspaper, Lokal-Anzeiger, is reporting that Kaiser Wilhelm II's "principal wedding gift" to his future-son-in-law, Prince Erst August of Hanover, and his bride, Princess Viktoria Luise, will be the duchy of Brunswick.
The German emperor is expected to proclaim Brunswick as an independent duchy with Ernst August and Viktoria Luise as the sovereigns.
The wedding will take place on May 24.
