Prince Louis Philippe Robert, Duke of Orleans, was married today to Archduchess Maria Dorothea Amelia of Austria, The ceremony was performed at the Hofburg chapel at 11 a.m., in the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph, the Queen of Portugal, sister of the bridegroom, and "a number of Austrian and foreign royalties," reports The New York Times.

The Duke of Connaught represented his mother, Queen Victoria, and the Duke of Aosta represented the King of Italy.
The procession entered the chapel "amid a flourish of trumpets and the rolling of drums," according to the Chicago Daily Tribune, "where they were received by the Archbishop of Vienna, "who sprinkled the processionists with holy water."
The bride and bridegroom knelt at a prie-dieu. The wedding rings were blessed and then handed to the couple on a golden salver.
After placing "the rings on each other's fingers, the bridal pair clasped hands were again sprinkled with holy water."
The wedding mass included a Te Deum. At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom led the procession back to the apartments for a reception.
