The Grand Duchess Marie Adelheid of Luxembourg "has retired to a convent because of grief over the occupation" of her duchy by Germany, according to a report from Düdelingen, "an all important city" in Luxembourg. The report, which was published by the Chicago Daily Tribune, states that the Grand Duchess "has renounced her title and civil authority to her younger sister." The writer of the original dispatch declared that the Grand Duchess's announcement "was not allowed to be made public by the press," as the censors have "strict orders to prohibit publication of news of this description."
