Close cousins
This family group photo was taken in the summer of 1920. The Mecklenburgs, Hannovers and Prussian royal cousins. Family ties: Crown Princess Cecilie's brother, the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, is married to Princess Alexandra of Hannover whose brother, Ernst August, is married to Princess Victoria Luise of Prussia, whose brother, Wilhelm, is married to Crown Princess Cecilie.

The same Louis Ferdinand who married Kira?
I think the photo should be dated 10 years earlier. Ernst August was born in 1914 and he looks about 6 years old. A lot of those young children were born
1910-15.
Yes - same Louis Ferdinand. Friederike was born in 1917. Prince Christian (in VL's arms) was born in September 1919, and he's about a year, so the photo could have been taken in the summer of 1920.
Judging from all the frowns they are facing the sun?
