The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were among the guests at the wedding of Ella Mountbatten and Fergus Wright on September 12 at St Luke’s Church, Milland, West Sussex. The Duke is one of Ella's godparents.
Ella, 30, is the eldest of three daughters of Lord Ivar Mountbatten and his former wife, Penny Thompson. Until April 2026, she worked at Peninsula Hotels, where she was Senior Brand Partnership Manager. She is now the EU Partnerships and Brands Manager with Flexjet, the world's largest private jet fleet.
Her 30-year-old husband earned a master's in business and currently works as an insurer relationships executive with Miller Insurance Services, LLP.
The tiara Ella wore was the "something borrowed."
Ella is a descendant of Queen Victoria. Her grandfather, David, 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven, and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, were first cousins.

Her paternal uncle, George, is the 4th Marquess of Milford Haven. His daughter, Lady Tatiana Mountbatten's daughter, Elodie Dru, was one of the bridal attendants.
