After the wedding, Grand Duke George and Princess Victoria visited the Fortress of St. Peter & Paul, where the bride placed her bouquet on the graves of her husband's grandparents, Grand Duke Wladimir and Grand Duchess Leonida. They were accompanied by Grand Duchess Maria.
Sadly, however, Grand Duke George's dad, Prince Franz Wilhelm, is ill and could not attend the wedding.
Prince Davit Bagration and Prince Boris of Bulgaria were among those who held the Crowns over the couple's heads during the service.
The gala white tie reception will be held tonight at the Russian Ethnographic Museum. It begins at 7 pm. The wedding celebrations will end tomorrow with a brunch at the former Strelna Palace, the home of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich and his family.

Thank you Marlene, and your wonderful photographer, for providing the text and photos to this historic occasion! I especially appreciate all the details found in the photographs, the Russian Orthodox church with the beautiful icons, height of the ceiling, crowns held over the bridal couple; guests standing on the sides - not seated -, the candles, etc. A wonderful "at this time" glimpse into St. Isaac's and the Fortress of St. Peter and Paul. How happy the bride looks!
No reigning houses?
Just Philip and Isabelle of Liechtenstein and their family
King Boris of Bulgaria couldn't have held the crowns above the bride and groom's heads as he is dead. It was King Simeon.
I did not write King Boris, but Prince Boris, the grandson of Simeon, who held the crowns.
I didn’t see the father of the groom on the pictures.. Was he present?
Pomme, did you read the paragraphs before the photos? You will find the answer.
Thanks for this awesome pics for the first Romanov wedding in Russian soil in more than 100 years!!!! I think that in one of two of the pics, the "undentified guest" was Helene Kirby, Countess Dvinskaya (half-sister of Grand Duchess Maria)....anyway, thanks a lot Marlene!!!!
