All dressed up
Marlene A, Eilers Koenig collection
The Duke and Duchess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Prince and Princess Alexander of Teck in national costume.
Love the headdress on Princess Alice. It looks like it is about twice the size of her head. Such a sad story of a brother and sister torn apart by two world wars. Great picture!!!
I think torn apart is a bad choice of words ... In her memoirs, Alice whitewashed her brother's career. and when he was in England in the 30s, she allowed her brother to use her country home to entertain Nazis. Karina Urbach's book makes this clear.. and in the 20s, Alice and Mary still used the German embassy to send mail to their relatives
