Official: Prince Amedeo of Belgium to marry

It's official!   The announcement of Prince Amedeo of Belgium, eldest child of Princess Astrid of Belgium and her husband, Prince Lorenz (Archduke Lorenz of Austria) is engaged to Miss Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein.

The marriage was announced by the groom's parents: "Leurs Altesses Royales la Princesse Astrid et le Prince Lorenz ont la grande joie d'annoncer les fiançailles de Son Altesse Royale le Prince Amedeo avec Mademoiselle Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein."

Miss Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein is the only child of "Nobile" Ettore Roshboch von Wolkenstein and Countess Lilia de Smecchia. She was born on September 9, 1987 at Rome.

Miss Rosboch, who is know as Lili, studied French at the Lycée Chateaubriand in 2005, and she has a bachelor's degree in Economics and Social Sciences.   In 2006, she moved to London to study literature and film at Queen Mary University.  She received a BA from Queen Mary in May 2009.

Prince Amedeo and Miss Rosboch were first introduced in London about six years ago.

Four years ago. she came to New York City, presumably to follow Prince Amedeo who was working for Deloitte at the time, and in September 2009, she obtained an internship with Bloomberg News.  She was hired by Bloomberg in May 2010, and has been covering the arts for the news organization since that time.  Her first language is Italian, and she is also fluent in French and English.   She enjoys skiing, horseback riding, swimming, and water skiing. 

The couple were photographed on Valentine's Day meeting with Pope Francis, who spoke to a group of 25,000 engaged couples.

Mademoiselle Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein

 

Nobile Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein est née à Rome le 9 Septembre 1987. Elle est le seul enfant de Nobile Ettore Rosboch von Wolkenstein et de son épouse, la Comtesse Lilia de Smecchia. Sa marraine est sa tante maternelle, la Comtesse Muni Sassoli de’ Bianchi. Son parrain est le Prince Carlo Caracciolo di Castagneto, tuteur de son père. 

Elisabetta Maria grandit à Rome avec ses parents jusqu’à l’âge de 18 ans. Elle fait ses études en français au Lycée Chateaubriand et en 2005 obtient son Baccalauréat en Sciences Economiques et Sociales.  

 En 2006, elle déménage à Londres pour entreprendre des études de littérature et cinéma à la Queen Mary University of London. Pendant l’été 2007, elle fait un stage auprès de la galerie d’art Dickinson Roundell à Londres dans le département d’art contemporain. Elisabetta Maria obtient son Bachelor of Arts avec Honneurs de Queen Mary University of London en Mai 2009.

 Intéressée par l’écriture, les arts plastiques et la culture, Elisabetta Maria entame en Septembre 2009 un stage chez Bloomberg News à New York dans le département culturel. En Mai 2010, Bloomberg News lui offre un emploi.

 Depuis lors, Elisabetta Maria travaille pour Bloomberg News à New York, où elle suit l’actualité des arts et de la culture. Elle rédige des articles sur des expositions et réalise de nombreuses interviews avec des artistes et personnalités du monde culturel : écrivains, sculpteurs, musiciens, plasticiens…

 Outre l’italien, qui est sa langue maternelle, Elisabetta Maria parle couramment le français et l’anglais.   

 Depuis son plus jeune âge, Elisabetta Maria pratique le ski alpin. Elle pratique également l’équitation, la natation et le ski nautique. Elle aime beaucoup la littérature, le cinéma, voyager et visiter des musées. 

 La mère d’Elisabetta Maria grandit à Milan où elle est scolarisée à l’école allemande du Sacré Cœur. Elle obtient un diplôme universitaire de l’Università degli Studi di Milano.

Son père grandit en Suisse et est scolarisé à l’Institut Le Rosey. Il poursuit des études d’économie et de commerce à Rome puis travaille dans le milieu bancaire à Londres. Il devient ensuite producteur de cinéma d’auteur. Il produit notamment Jean-Luc Godard et Marco Ferreri, et fait débuter Roberto Benigni comme auteur, metteur en scène et acteur.


Lili's godfather, Carlo, and her father, Ettore, are half brothers, sharing the same father, Don Filippo Caracciolo, 8th Principe di Castagneto, Duca di Melito.  Carlo was the 9th Prince of Castagneto.  He died in 2008.
