Heir to Russian throne is engaged

Czarevitch Nicholas Alexandrovitch, heir apparent to the Russian throne, is betrothed to Princess Alix of Hesse and By Rhine, according to a Chicago Tribune Dispatch.
The Princess recently celebrated her 21st birthday. She is the youngest daughter of the late Princess Alice, third child of Queen Victoria, and Grand Duke Ludwig IV of Hesse and By Rhine, who died last year. The current Grand Duke is the Princess' older brother, Ernst Ludwig.
Nicholas is 25 years old and the son of Alexander III and his wife, Marie Feodorovna, born Princess Dagmar of Denmark. She is a younger sister of the Princess of Wales.
