The Prince and Princess of Monaco and their two children "arrived on separate planes" earlier today "each accompanied by one of their children" to begin a six week visit to the United States, reports the New York Times and other news sources.
They traveled by separate planes "lest a possible air disaster" wipe out the Monaco princely family.
They are now in Philadelphia at the home of Princess Grace's mother, Mrs. John. B. Kelly.
Prince Rainier was accompanied by eight-year-old Princess Caroline. They arrived this morning and were driven to Philadelphia by limousine.
Princess Grace and Prince Albert, 5, flew into Idlewild Airport this evening.
This is not a state visit, but Philadelphia plans "a regal reception" for Rainier and the former Grace Kelly. They are also expected to visit New York and Washington. D.C.
