Prince Carlos of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies, Infant of Spain, and his wife, Princess Louise of France, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Princess Dolores, to Prince August Czartoryski, a member of the Polish princely family, according to an Associated Press dispatch.
The princess is 27 years old and her fiance is two years her senior. He is the son of Prince Adam Czartoryski and Countess Maria Ludwika Krasinska. Both the bride and groom are great-great grandchildren of King Louis Philippe of France. The groom's paternal grandmother was Princess Marguerite of Orléan, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Nemours. She married Prince Wladyslaw Czartoryski in January 1872 eight years after the death of Wladyslaw's first wife, Doña Maria Amparo Muñoz y Borbon, Countess of Viste Alegre, who was the duagher of Queen Maria Cristina of Spain, widow of King Ferdinand VII, and her second husband, Augustin Fernandez Muñoz. This marriage, conducted in secret, was considered morganatic.
Queen Maria Cristina was born a Princess of Bourbon-Two-Sicilies.
The groom's older sister, Princess Malgorzata Izabella was married in 1927 to Prince Gabriel of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, who is the youngest brother of Infante Carlos, father of Princess Dolores. Don Carlos is twenty six years older than his brother.
The wedding will take place in July at Lausanne, Switzerland.
