so they would be 2nd cousins?
also, i was reading an article on cnn earlier today & had a question for you. the article says that Charles will become king in only one of 3 ways: Queen dies, abdicates, or retires.
maybe i'm just stupid, but i thought it was death or abdication. she could retire in practice, but wouldn't she still be the Queen in name? what would retirement be if not abdication?
yes, second cousins.
Charles will succeed his mother when she dies. Abdication is not an option - and there is no such thing as retirement.
thanks, i thought so. reading that it didn't make much sense to me! i know that the Queen technically could abdicate but will not, and obviously when she dies it's Charles, but that whole retirement thing really sounded ridiculous to me. i just wanted to run it by you in case i was missing something... glad to know i wasn't wrong in thinking that whoever wrote that didn't know what they were talking about. ;-)
