Duke of Cambridge's condition - serious

March 3, 1901

Exclusive dispatch to the Los Angeles Times.

Members of the British Royal Family are "very anxious about the condition of the Duke of Cambridge."   His Royal Highness was very upset by the death of his cousin, Queen Victoria.

The Duke, who was born two months before Victoria, and his cousin had enjoyed friendly relations since their childhoods.  The two had played together as children.
Since Victoria's funeral, the Duke "has alarmed his relatives and medical advisers by his loss of appetite."   He has had a "magnificent constitution," but due to his advanced age,  his condition had deteriorated.
