Prince Hubertus zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and Baroness Iris von Dörnberg were married on September 18 in a Lutheran wedding at the Walpurgischekirche in Alsfeld, where the bride's family live. As the groom is Roman Catholic, a priest also took part in the ceremony. Approximately 250 guests, representing German and European royal and noble families, attended the service and reception.

According to the Kreis-Anzeiger, the couple have known each other for about 15 years, but a romance only sparked last fall when the two met in Frankfurt. "Then it went relatively quickly," the bride said in a pre-wedding interview.
The couple became in engaged in Rome in May, not long after Hubertus' older brother, the Hereditary Prince Carl Friedrich, was killed in a car crash during a race.

The civil ceremony took place on Friday at the town hall in Alsfeld, which was followed by a reception at a local museum. The guest list for these two events was limited to close family and friends.

The bride's mother, Baroness Beatrix von Dörnberg, was one of the first to arrive at the church, where she welcomed the guests. Fifteen minutes before the ceremony began, the groom's parents, the Prince and Princess of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, arrived at the church. The Prince was shown to his seat in the chancel. It was the Princess, a great-granddaughter of Kaiser Wilhelm, who escorted her son down to aisle to await the bride, who wore a tiara that belonged to Hubertus' family.
After a service that lasted for about 45 minutes, the newly married Prince and Princess Hubertus emerged from the church, and got into a carriage for the ride back to Schloss Herzberg, the bride's home for the reception.

The guest list included the groom's aunts,Princess of Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Wallerstein and Archduchess Maria of Austria, as well as other members of their families, Lady Nicholas Windsor, and her son, Albert Windsor. The only member of the Prussian royal family to attend the wedding was Prince Franz Wilhelm.  The groom's mother is the former Princess Anastasia of Prussia.
