The newly married Wilhelm II and his new Empress, Hermine, walked arm and arm, in the gardens at Haus Doorn. But when the rain started, the couple hurried back into the house. The Kaiser was also seen leaving Doorn in his car as he was escorting his new sister-in-law, the Princess of Stolberg-Stolberg, to the train station so she could catch a train back to her home in Germany.
