Umberto and Margherita arrive in Berlin
September 3, 1897. King Umberto and Queen Margherita of Italy have arrived in Homburg today. They were greeted by Kaiser Wilhelm II and Kaiserin Augusta Victoria "in a most cordial manner," and "embracing and kissing in each other." Both sovereign couples were "heartily cheered by the crowd," as the carriages made their way back to the castle.
