Boris takes lunch with President Roosevelt
September 4, 1902. American president Theodore Roosevelt welcomed Grand Duke Boris of Russia to his home, Sagamore Hill, on Oyster Bay. The Grand Duke arrived from Newport, Rhode Island, on Ogden Mill's yacht, Felicia. The president and the Grand Duke, along with other guests, including Mrs. Roosevelt, had enjoyed a pleasant lunch. The Grand Duke boarded the Felicia at 3:30 p.m, and returned to Newport. He had merely come to "pay his respects" to President Roosevelt.
