Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein engaged

Both photos @IKR

Princess Marie Caroline is the first of the Hereditary Prince and Hereditary Princess four children to become engaged.   As  Liechtenstein’s succession is based on Salic Law (males only), Marie Caroline is not in line to the throne. This also applies to all her descendants.

Leopold's grandparents were married in the United States.  His grandmother, Countess Christine de Marcellus was the daughter of Count  Henri Marie Pierre de Martin Dutyrac de Marcellus and Rose Mary Gordon Clark.

New York Times August 24, 1961.  They were married on August 23, 1961

  2. He's Venezuelan and has the lastname Maduro... obviously they're not related, but it's a funny coincidence.

  3. If you read the press announcements, you would’ve noticed it says his name and where he was born

  4. I read it, what I meant is that it's funny that he shares a lastname with his country's dictator. Anyway, his mother's family is one of the top business families in Venezuela since the XIXth century.

  5. Andrea, Monaco allows for female succession .. male primogeniture (means sons before daughters, brothers before sisters.) This is the same as Spain. Princess Gabriela is second in line followed by Caroline, her legitimate or legitimated descendants, same for Stephanie. Caroline was heiress presumptive until Albert was born . Rainier's mother Charlotte was born illegitimate. She was legitmated and adopted by her father, Louis II, who had no other issue - and was the heiress presumptive, until she renounced her rights in favor of her son Rainier.
