A new official portrait of King Charles III
@Hugo Burnand
The King is wearing his Royal Navy uniform of an Admiral of the Fleet.
According to the Cabinet Office: On his Admiral of the Fleet (No. 1 Tailcoat), the King is wearing his Garter Collar and Sovereign's badge and Garter Star, his Thistle Star, the Bath Sovereign’s badge, his Order of Merit, the Royal Victorian Order's Royal Victorian Chain and GCVO Sash, as well as a host of medals on his medal bar.
This 3/4 length portrait is a bit off for me, maybe it's the blurry hallway behind the King. I much prefer the recent full length photo of King Frederik of Denmark also taken indoors, in military dress.
What Order is the King wearing? I thought the Order of the Garter sash was worn in the opposite direction and was solid blue?
