The first official photo of the King & Queen and the Prince & Princess of Wales
This is the first photo of King Charles III & Queen Camilla with the Prince and Princess of Wales. It was taken on September, the day before Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
Marlene - As to the revokation of the Danish title of Prince/Princess - What about the persons using the title: Prince of Denmark and Greece? I assume they should now also relinguish that use? as created by King Christian IX for male line dynasts? This will only be fair if they should also loose this right as most is not even near the Danish throne (line of succession). I thought the Queen will at the same time issue a statement as to this use.
They are not affected by it the change. The title means little as they have no succession rights to the Danish throne. Until 1953, the succession was limited to the male line descendants of Christian IX except for his son Wilhelm, elected KIng of the Hellenes. He and his male line descendants were excluded from the succession due to a 1863 treaty that recognized Wilhelm as King of Greece. The succession is now limited to the descendants of Christian X since 1953 - apart from those who make unapproved marriages, the descendants of Benedikte (who were not educated in Denmark) and Anne Marie who renounced her right to the throne when she married a foreign king. they have no role in Denmark,
Why are George, Charlotte and Louis, also Prince and Princess of Wales?
ReplyDeleteWhats about the titles of Cambridge and Cornwall?
They are not Princes and Princess of Wales
ReplyDeleteThey are Prince George of Wales, Charlotte of Wales and Louis of Wales, just William and Harry were of Wales ..
Briefly - after the queen died and until Charles gave his first speech, the kids were of Cornwall and Cambridge
I wrote a post about this before the Queen died https://royalmusingsblogspotcom.blogspot.com/2018/07/so-how-will-william-and-catherine-by.html
