Princess Patricia of Connaught is expected to visit Newport, Rhode Island next month as the guest of Commodore and Mrs. Vanderbilt, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The paper notes that there will be many "heart burnings" in Newport as the Cornelius Vanderbilts "have succeeded where so many have failed." The Duke and Duchess of Connaught and Princess Patricia were in Newport last winter and received many invitations to "return for a summer visit."
The Duke of Connaught serves as the Governor General of Canada. His visit to Newport was to "improve diplomatic relations between Britain, Canada and the United States."
Princess Patricia, 26, is the youngest of three children of the Duke and Duchess of Connaught. She has an older sister, Margaret, who is married to Crown Prince Gustav Adolf of Sweden and an older brother, Prince Arthur of Connaught.
The Duke of Connaught is the youngest surviving son of the late Queen Victoria.
