A Royal Roundup

As I continue to do laundry and start going through my photos,  I offer a roundup of royal events that took place while I was having fun in England.

@HH Duke of Mecklenburg

HH Hereditary Prince Alexander of Mecklenburg and Hande Macit were married yesterday, June 17,  in the Great Hall at Schloss Mirow.   Alexander's parents, TH The Duke and Duchess of Mecklenburg, and his younger brother, HH Duke Michael, were present at the ceremony.

A religious wedding will follow, but the date has not yet been announced.

The couple got engaged in December 2020.

@Princess Martha Louise

On June 7,  the Norwegian Royal Palace announced the engagement of Princess Martha Louise and Durek Verret.

"Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett have today announced their engagement. On that occasion, the King and Queen and the Crown Prince's family have the following greetings.

Greetings from the King and Queen

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen send their most heartfelt congratulations to Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett on the occasion of their engagement and wish them all the best for the future.

Greetings from the Crown Prince's family

The Crown Prince's family sends Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett warm congratulations on the occasion of their engagement. They wish the whole family all the best for the future."

Norwegian historian Dag Hoelseth writes about the possible implications of Martha Louise's marriage as she has not (yet) sought official consent from the King. For more information on this issue:

Nicholas and Alina-Maria's Medforth-Mills' second child, Mihail, was baptized today at the Coronation Cathedral in Alba Julia.  A reception followed the baptism ceremony.  Mihai, who was born on April 15 in Bucharest, is named for his paternal great-grandfather, the late King Michael of Romania.

Mihail's godparents are  Romanian businessman, Liviu Popescu and his wife Simone.
