Countess Beatrix von Schonburg-Glauchau

A special announcement from Gloria, Princess of Thurn und Taxis was placed in the Mittelbayerische Zeitung in Regensburg due to the family's stature in that Bavarian town.

All three of the Countess' three surviving children were able to spend time with her during the final weeks of her life.

The Countess is survived by her three children,  Gloria, Princess of Thurn und Taxis, Count Carl-Alban, Alexander, Count of Schonburg-Glauchau and eight grandchildren,  Albert, Prince of Thurn und Taxis,  Princess Elisabeth of Thurn und Taxis, Princess Maria Theresia of Thurn und Taxis,  Count Hubertus, Count Benedikt,   Countess Maria-Letitia, Hereditary Count Maximus and Count Valentin of Schonburg-Glauchau and Friedrich-Alexander, Maria-Pilar, Ernst-Moritz, Flick and Maria Carlotta Hipp, the children of Countess Beatrix's elder daughter, Countess Maria Felicitas (Maya) von Schonburg-Glauchau who died in 2019.

She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, including Mafalda and Maya Wilson, the children of Princess Maria Theresia and artist Hugo Wilson, Mia Flick

Countess Beatrix was the first wife of Joachim, Count von Schonburg-Glauchau in 1957.  They divorced in 1986.

Following his marriage in 1995 to Juliet Fowler-Beechy, Count Carl-Alban renounced his right of succession in favor of his brother, Alexander.  

Count Joachim died in 1998 and was succeeded by his second son, Count Alexander, who is married to Princess Irina of Hesse, a descendant of Queen Victoria.

A Pontifical High Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Munich with a Hungarian bishop.   Countess Beatrix was the last living Countess Széchenyi who descended directly from István Széchenyi.
