  1. Marlene, Donatus isn’t descended from Sophie is he? So there’s no actual descendent of hers present. Is that correct?

  2. I wrote an article on the three men last night ... he is the grandson of Christoph's older brother All of Sophie's surviving children apart from her youngest daughter, live in Germany. Frederica lives in Canada. But their children are not close to the Royal family, even the ones who live in the UK

  3. Shame Prince Michael of Kent is not included, his mother was Philips cousin and his siblings are included. Think Prince Michael, Lady Pamela Hicks (his cousin) and Myra Butter (nee Wernher) the latter two having grown up with Prince Philip since childhood instead or Margaret's family.

  4. Do you know if Prince George and Prince Charlotte or the Tindalls kids will attend? Or is it not allowed by covid restrition?

  5. Only 30. Lady Pamela and Lady Butter are elderly, the latter lives in Scotland. Philip was close to Margaret's kids. He gave Margaret away at her wedding. 30 People. not an easy decision

  6. Curious, did the Earl of Wessex get a new title? I see the Royal family website details for the funeral are referring to him as the Earl of Wessex and Forfar.

  7. Through whom is the Lady Butter the Duke of Edinburgh's cousin?

  8. Myra Butter was the youngest of three children of Lady Zia Torby and Sir Harold Wernher, BT. Zia was one of three children of Grand Duke Michael Mikhailovitch of Russia and Countess Sophie von Merenberg. Zia's sister, Nada, married Philip's uncle (and guardian) George, 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven. Have written several articles about this relationship

  9. Yes, the queen gave Edward a title to use in Scotland ..this happened on the occasion of his 55th birthday in 2019

  10. The Cambridge children will not be attending. Only 30 people can attend the funeral.

  11. Don't understand why nobody of the Greek royal family will be in his funeral. He was born prince of Greece! It's not understanding! Know that it is very difficult to decide who will be among the 30 people however think a member of the Greek royal family should be in his funeral.

  12. The queen had to make difficult decisions about the guest list- family came first. He also wanted members of his sisters' families and they were certainly more important than the Greeks. Tino is ill, has had at least one stroke, and lives in Greece. Being born a prince of Greece is not relevant to his life in the UK.

  13. Well, was not thinking in King Constantine, thought in Prince Paul. Yes, you are right, Prince Philip never lived in Greece and didn't feel Greek, although formally he was. He did not speak Greek although could understand it.

  14. I watched the whole funeral on the BBC and I didn't see several of the people who were invited to the funeral service. I'm sure that you know exactly which individuals were no-shows. I would appreciate it if you could enlighten me. Thanks in advance Marlene...
