Another Noble death - the Count of Königsegg-Aulendorf

H Ill H Johannes von Nepomuk Maria Eusebius Pius Count of Königsegg-Aulendorf died today at his home, Schloss.  He was 95 years old.   

He was the fourth of seven children of Maria Joseph Erwin Leo Franz Maximilian Karl Borromäus Aloys Johannes d. Ev Georg Klemens Benedikt Eusebius Alfred, Count of Königsegg-Aulendorf(1891-1951)  and Countess Lucia von Wilczek (1897-197)   Count Johannes became heir on October 6, 1942, when his older brother, Count Karl, was killed in action in Russia.

Count Johannes married Baroness Stefania Waldbott von Bassenheim (1929-2012) in Munich on September 27, 1955.



He was the Grand Commander of the Royal Order of Saint George for the Defense of the Immaculate Conception.

Count Johannes is survived by his three children, Countess Isabelle (1956), who is married to Count Adam-Petrus Schall-Riaucour,  Maximilian (1958), and Count Markus (1963), married to Countess Philippa von Waldburg-Zeil-Hohenems, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by two siblings, Count Maximilian (1932), and Countess Veronika, Mrs. Brand.

His elder son, Maximilian Ulrich Philipp Eusebius Benno is the new Count of Königsegg-Aulendorf.  He is married to Countess Marie Valerie Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau.  They have four children, Hereditary Count Philipp (1988), Count Nikolaus (1990), Countess Marie-Alice (1999), the wife of Philipp Lovrek, and Countess Marie-Gabrielle (1995).

In the last few weeks, the new Count and Countess of Königsegg-Auhlendorf have lost their fathers.
