Joint communication of the King and Princess Delphine:
On Friday 9 October, we met each other for the first time at the Castle of Laken. It was a warm encounter. This long and rich discussion gave us the opportunity to learn to know each other. We talked about our respective lives and areas of shared interest. This bond will further develop within the family setting.
Philippe & Delphine
I believe P. Delphine should have more correctly been created a duchess or countess.
ReplyDeleteBest bit of news i have read in a while in this mess of a story .
ReplyDeleteA better man than his father
ReplyDeleteHow wonderfully civilized!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see this.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who initiated the meeting but it is good for both of them to communicate and open up avenues of establishing a relationship. At least Phillippe should realize that she is part of the family now and she isn't going away.It is a sad relationship that needs some kind of communication to be established.
ReplyDeletei hope that some ground rules were established for accepting the fact that there is a familial connection and that a smooth transition was established or at least a formal relationship can be established.
Just so long that everyone knows that she is a family member. nowI would think that Queen Mathilde will be a welcoming member of the family to ease any transition.

She didn't dressed up for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a pretty decent thing to do, considering his father’s past behaviour. Welcoming a new family member should be a joyous occasion .
ReplyDeleteBill, neither did the king .. it was an informal meeting between half siblings ... Philippe didn't dress up either
ReplyDeleteNoor, the 1991 declaration states that Albert's descendants are HRH prince/ess ... does not say legitimate
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely related. She looks very much like her half sister as well. I hope this will help create a happier family for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely have a strong family resemblance.
