Identification Needed

A friend recently bought this postcard. He needs a little help with identification.  He is nearly sure about  4,5,6,7, 8 & 9 of the ten people, but is not sure about 1,2,3 & 10 (from left to right.)

  1. Hi, the n. 10 is he a prince or king of Serbia?

  2. 3rd from left in the first row - Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg (1878-1916), 4 - Crown Prince Boris of Bulgaria, 5 - Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna the Elder, 6 - Duke Adolphus Frederick of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, 7 - Archduchess Elisabeth Henriette of Austria, 8 - Prince Philipp of Saxe-Coburg, 9 - Prince Cyrill of Bulgaria.

  3. Number 10 is certainly not either the King or Prince of Serbia.

Maybe more information about the year, occasion and other recognizable people in the picture would help others to figure who are people with missing id.

  4. Nr1 by uniform could be an Austrian Archduke, Franz Salvator? Nr 10 King Ferdinand of Bulgaria, Nr 7 then possibly his 2nd wife Eleonore. Just guessing, photo around 1905 - 1910...

  6. I am guessing the occasion is in Coburg. The lady in the middle is the widowed Grand Duchess of Saxe-Coburg Gotha aka Duchess of Edinburgh (No 5). Next to her is Grand Duke Charles Eduard (No. 6) and Grand Duchess Victoria Adelheid (No. 7). From her hat I would also guess a date of ca. 1911- 1912 (a peak hat year!). I'm wondering if the occasion has something to do with the Natural Sciences Museum in the park in Coburg. The late Grand Duke Alfred was very interested in this institution as was King Boris of Bulgaria. The boys are Prince Boris (No.4) and Prince Kyrill (No.9) of Bulgaria as other posters have spotted. I was thinking the older man with the beard (No.8) was King Boris - but he looks too old to me. Maybe wasn’t there on this occasion (Bulgaria was at war in 1912 and 1913). Philip of Coburg is an interesting idea.

So who are the others? It would make sense to invite some of the other Saxon rulers to an occasion like this. No 1 reminds me of King Friedrich August of Saxony. No. 2 The Grand Duke of Saxe Weimar-Eisenach. No 3 (just guessing here) Bernhard of Saxe-Meiningen ( Jr.) That would make No. 10 The Grand Duke of Saxe –Altenburg (???)

Just my 2 cents. Any thoughts?
