50 years ago today: the wedding of Princess Margriet of the Netherlands
On January 10, 1967 at St. James's Church in The Hague, HRH Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, third of four daughters of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard, married Pieter van Vollenhoven.
They first met at Leiden University, and their engagement was announced in March 1965.
Today, the couple, who have four sons and eleven grandchildren, celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
