The latest additions to my collection

This is Infanta Beatriz of Spain (nee Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha) with her first son, Prince Alvaro.  This postcard was sent in January 1911
This is the back of the card sent to a Miss Nash in Eastbourne.  The card was written by someone named Thyra.  One can only wonder if this is Princess Thyra of Denmark, Duchess of Cumberland.   Eastborne was a popular seaside resort for European royals.  The recipient of the postcard was Thyra Thompson Nash (1884-1966)

Princess Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha

Princess Franz Joseph of Hohenzollern-Emden (nee Princess Maria Alix of Saxony (1901-1990)) with her eldest son Prince Karl Anton (1922-1993)

The Prince and Princess of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (Friedrich (1891-1965) & Princess Margarete of Saxony (1900-1962)  with their five children: Benedikta, Maria Adelgunde, Maria Theresia,  Friedrich Wilhelm, Franz Josef and Johann Georg,  This card is from 1932.  A seventh child, Ferfied, was born in 1943,
Wilhelm, Prince of Hohenzollern (father of Friedrich, shown above) and his second wife, Princess Adelgunde of Bavaria.  They married in on January 20, 1915, nearly six years after the death of his first wife, Princess Maria Theresia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.

Queen Augusta Victoria of Portugal (nee Princess of Hohenzollern) with her two brothers, Hereditary Prince Friedrich (1891-1965) and his twin brother, Prince Franz Josef (called Victor in this photograph).  Augusta Victoria was the oldest of the three children.

  1. Hilda and Thyra Nash were both collectors of postcards related to royalty, particularly Russian royalty. Hilda was a nurse and had more than 360 in her collection.
