Funeral for Princess Royal later this week

January 5, 1931

King George V has ordered six weeks of mourning for his eldest sister, the Princess Royal, who died yesterday.

Half mourning will extend from February 1 through February 14, according to the New York Times.

Those who wear uniforms or court dress will add a black crepe band 3 1/4 inches wide on the left arm.  Officers of the guard who take part in the changing of the guard at St. James's Palace will wear black bands.   Flags in London's West End are at half staff.

The Prince of Wales has returned to London after a stay in Sandringham. He "canceled an engagement hunt," scheduled for earlier today.
