In the name of His Majesty King Michael I, Wednesday, the 29th of April 2015, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu hosted at Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest an official dinner on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.


The event was attended by 70 Veterans of War and members of their families, the minister of National Defence, Mr Mircea Du a, the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, Lieutenant General Nicolae Ciucã and members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Bucharest.

His Majesty King Michael attended the ceremonies celebrating the 50th, the 60th and the 65th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. His Majesty was present in London in 1995, in Bratislava, Brno, Prague and Moscow in 2005, and in Moscow in 2010.

This year, the Royal Family of Romania honored, in Bucharest, together with the Romanian Armed Forces, the memory of the Romanian soldiers wounded and killed during the Second World War.
