Queen Elizabeth II was supposed to present the trophy to the winner of the Gold Cup Race at Ascot today.
This would have been difficult to do as the Queen's filly, Estimate, crossed the finish line first, which meant that the Queen was the winner. This was the first time that the Sovereign's horse had won this race.
It would have been awkward for the beaming Queen to present the trophy to herself, so her second son, the Duke of York, quickly stepped in.
I bet that trophy has a pride of place, perhaps even on the Queen's nightstand, so it will be the first thing she sees tomorrow morning.
