A bride for the Crown Prince

April 5, 1903

Has Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia found a bride?  According to the New York Times, "rumors are current among the German Emperor's suite and in Danish court circles" that the Crown Prince is "to be betrothed" to Duchess Cecilie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, sister of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz of Meklenburg-Schwerin and Princess Alexandrine, who is the wife of Prince Christian of Denmark, grandson of King Christian IX and second in line to the Danish throne.

Duchess Cecilie was born at Schwerin on September 20, 1886.  The 17-year-old Duchess is four years younger than Crown Prince Wilhelm.
