The Duke of Cumberland continues to "maintain his claim to Hanover and Brunswick," according to a dispatch to the New York Times. A letter by the Duke was published in the Neuste Nachrichten, a Brunswick newspaper.
Prince Ernst August, Duke of Cumberland is the son of the late King Georg V of Hanover. He is married to Princess Thyra of Denmark, youngest daughter of King Christian IX.
