A second baby for Prince and Princess Antonius zu Fürstenberg

The German magazine Bunte is reporting that Prince Antonius and Princess Mathilde zu Fürstenberg are expecting a second child.  Prince Antonius said that their son would be born around December 4.  He and his wife are leaning toward Albert.

Their first son, Prince Karl, was born on September 22, 2011,  The Prince and the Countess Mathilde Borromeo were married in June 2011.

Prince Antonius is the younger son of the Prince and Princess of Fürstenberg.  His elder brother, Prince Christian, and his wife, Princess Jeanette, remain childless.  They were married in September 2010.

  1. It's von Fürstenberg, not zu Fürstenberg. 100% positive. the Princely family zu Fürstenberg is an entirely different branch than the one you are attempting to talk about.

Matilde was not EVER a Countess. Her mother is. Matilde is a Donna (the Italian equal to Lady).
And her name is not Mathilde, but Matilde.

  2. Guess what: another strike out for Marcia -- the Princely family of Fürstenberg is zu not von. You are 100% wrong about zu Fürstenberg.

http://haus-fuerstenberg.de/familie/ which is the official site. Various cards that I have received from the family - use zu Fürstenberg. You might want to invest in the Handbuch des Adels ... the designer Diane von Fürstenberg uses the von, rather than zu .. but the official is the zu ... Antonius's own family describes Mathilde as a Countess (Gräfin), which is what I believe was also on the fair parte.

  3. haha Marcia is wrong a lot but thinks she is the be all, end all expert of all things royal.

'Zu' is actually a mark of higher rank than 'von.'

Zu applies to most of the high nobility. 'Von' I think is a mark much more 'common' usually.

  4. She is hardly an expert. She thinks Catherine's title is HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and goes on and on trying to correct people about it. (Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge would indicate that she is either a widow of a peer or the divorced wife of a peer.) Marcia is more of a court jester.
