Uh Oh!

I could not understand why the photo gallery on my new phone included photos posted on Royal Musings ... so I deleted the photos on the phone, not even thinking that there is a connection between the photos on the phone and on this blog .. guess there is, but cannot figure out why!

It will take some time to clean up all the black spots, where photos used to be.  I will not be restoring the photos to the posts.  Too much time.   My mistake has freed up a lot of photo space!   Not happy about what I did, but it won't happen again.
If you read a post with a missing image, please post the title of the post in a comment, and then I can delete it.  Thanks.  This will be a time consuming effort ... yuck!

The only good news is that I do have the originals.

  1. Did you connect your USB cable to your computer? Sometimes information is automatically uploaded.

  2. the phone was not hooked to the computer. I physically deleted the files from my Gallery on my phone ...i could not figure out why the photos were on my phone ..

I have not lost the actual photographs, postcards -- just the files on Picasa .. still do not know how that is connected to the smartphone ... a great way to start the year :)

  3. Well good luck. Maybe it has something to do with duplicate files. Anyway, if you ever find out what happen let us know. Good Night & Happy New Year. Oh,did you ever log into google because Picasa is connected to them. Just a guess.

  5. But shouldn't Blogger have backup? Do you backup periodically with blogger or have the photos blacked up to Picassa or Flicker. Blogger used to do that with me when I was on Blogger.

  6. I have no knowledge of backup. I would scan my postcards or photographs onto my computer and then upload. I guess Blogger would keep the photos somewhere because I never save the scans of what I scanned ... I put the cards and photos back in their albums.

  7. Check flickr and picassa by logging in with your blogger id. I bet all of your photos for each post are there. They used to do it automatically. Look in the help section of blogger. And going forward do the simple backup to your hard drive. I try to do one every few months. Blogger has instructions in the settings.

  8. I do not have an account with either picassa or Flickr, but I apparently archive monthly according to the settings .. how does one find the archived blogs?

  10. Thanks, Glamah. I've seen that, but it doesn't tell me where my archives are.

  11. Leave a message stating your problem on the blogger help line Marlene. One or two of the more tech savvy blogers will probably be able to give you instructions on where to find the back ups if they are still in the system, maybe even restore them. Good Luck.

  12. emerald, did all that already. The photos still exist in google images, but the only way to restore is to put them back manually. This will take time

  13. Android is completely linked up with all your Google accounts, so pictures in Google albums will show up on your phone. There is a setting you can change so your Google albums are not synced with your phone, go to settings, accounts and sync settings, and turn off auto-sync. You can sync individual items (email, calendar, contacts) by tapping on your Gmail account in that window and tapping 'sync now' on each individual item. It's a bit scary how much of your Google life shows up on your phone, but you can control it!
